Kenneth J. Bartschi is one of Connecticut’s leading appellate attorneys, with a distinguished practice focused on civil, family, constitutional, and criminal appeals. He is Of Counsel at the firm and a member of its Litigation & Insurance Services Practice Group and has argued numerous cases before the Connecticut Supreme Court and Connecticut Appellate Court, many of which have had a significant impact on the development of Connecticut law.
Attorney Bartschi is widely recognized for his exceptional knowledge of appellate procedure and has played a prominent role in shaping appellate practice throughout the state. Since 2004, he has served as co-author of Thomson Reuters’ Connecticut Rules of Appellate Procedure (Annotated) and has co-authored Connecticut Practice Series: Connecticut Superior Court Civil Rules since 2000. He is also the long-standing co-author of the annual Appellate Review for the Connecticut Bar Journal and regularly presents the Annual Appellate Review at the Connecticut Legal Conference.
A respected leader within the appellate bar, Attorney Bartschi is a Fellow of the invitation-only American Academy of Appellate Lawyers and a Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation. He remains actively involved in the Connecticut Bar Association serving on the executive committees of its Appellate and LGBT Sections and has served as co-chair of the Human Rights & Responsibilities Section. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity.
Attorney Bartschi earned his Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law after completing graduate studies at Arizona State University and undergraduate studies at SUNY Potsdam. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut and New York, the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
