Masters Law Group

Masters Law Group litigates civil appeals in every state and federal appellate court in Washington State. Mr. Masters was an appellate law clerk; his partner of over 20 years, Shelby R. Frost Lemmel, was a judicial extern in both state and federal courts; and his wife, Kara R. Masters (of counsel) clerked for three appellate court judges. Our paralegal, Tami Cole, is an experienced attorney who handles record and other issues for us. MLG’s more than 75 years of combined appellate experience – on both sides of the bench – enables us to guide clients efficiently and intelligently throughout the appellate process.

We enjoy assisting trial counsel in anticipating appellate issues, but the far greater part of our practice is directly in the appellate courts. Our appeals have involved nearly every area of life and the law, from constitutional questions (e.g., First Amendment and civil rights issues); to contracts and other business transactions; corporations (including corporate disregard); debtor and creditor; injunctions; insurance coverage; employment law; family law; landlord/tenant; new trial issues; products liability; professional malpractice (legal and medical); property disputes of all sorts (including adverse possession, land use, mortgages, and real estate transactions); statutes; secured transactions; securities; torts (including complex personal injury); trusts and estates (including wills); workers compensation; and of course complex civil and appellate jurisdictional and procedural questions. Whatever the issue, we look forward to serving you.
