Jeff focuses his practice on defending clients in complex business, construction, real estate, and environmental litigation at both the trial and appellate level. He has extensive experience providing the full range of litigation services in federal and state court, including pretrial discovery, summary judgment advocacy, trial advocacy, and appellate advocacy. He also has experience representing clients in administrative enforcement proceedings. Jeff is recognized as one of the “Ones to Watch” by Best Lawyers in America® for appellate and commercial litigation and as a rising star by Indiana Super Lawyers for appellate litigation.
Jeff has represented clients in both state and federal court in cases involving a variety of business issues, including real estate litigation, toxic tort litigation, mold litigation, class action litigation, construction disputes, products liability, insurance coverage disputes, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of contract, business torts, landlord-tenant issues, defamation, and constitutional law. He also has experience with a variety of environmental statutory schemes, including Indiana’s Environmental Legal Action Statute, CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and underground storage tank laws.
Jeff is the past chair of the Indianapolis Bar Association Environmental Section’s Executive Committee and a past member of the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Insurance Coverage Section’s Executive Committee. He also sits on the board of directors of the Center for Global Impact, a local faith-based nonprofit relief-and-development organization.
Jeff graduated from Indiana State University (B.S., magna cum laude) in 2007. He earned his Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2010, where he was editor-in-chief of the Indiana Law Journal and champion of the Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition. Prior to joining the firm, Jeff served as law clerk to Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard of the Indiana Supreme Court.
